Short Term Health Insurance In Rhode Island

The State of Rhode Island does not allow carriers to offer and sell short term health insurance products to its residents. It joins a list of four other states in the U.S. who restricts the offering of this type of health insurance product. Unlike the other four states that prohibit short term plans however, Rhode Island does allow carriers to offer supplemental products like critical illness and fixed indemnity supplemental health products to its residents, which will help Rhode Islanders mitigate their out-of-pocket costs from medical bills received while not insured with a major medical plan.
